How To Air Fry Stuffed Mushrooms. Welcome to my ultimate guide for learning how to cook delicious stuffed mushrooms in the air fryer.
Air Fryer Stuffed Mushrooms is one of the best types of cooking you could possibly learn to cook when you first get an air fryer.
Its one of those easy air fryer beginner methods that goes alongside air fryer fries, air fryer onion rings, air fryer hamburgers and of course air fryer party meatballs.
I rememberwhen we got our first ever air fryer. It was many, many years ago now and long beforethe air fryer had become a thing. I didn’t know anyone else that owned one andhad seen an ad for it in a magazine.
Iwanted one as soon as I saw it.
I meanwho doesn’t want something that crisps things up like a deep fat fry but withthe calories of a healthy grill?
It is ano brainer.
But I hadno recipes to follow online because recipe blogs back then were few and farbetween and as the Air Fryer was only been sold in a handful of countries, I wason my own.
One of the air fryer recipes that I would loved to have learnt about is how to air fry stuffed mushrooms.
Just because you could use your own fillings yet learn how to get the air fryer mushrooms perfectly crispy and cooked to perfection.
That iswhy I am sharing with you today how to air fry stuffed mushrooms, as it willgive you a guide to work from and you can get as excited as me over the airfryer.
Table of Contents
Air Fry Whole Mushrooms
The mushrooms that we are using today in the air fryer, are a pack of four whole mushrooms.
Whole mushrooms are perfect because you can place a pack of four of them without them overlapping in the air fryer and easily stuff the mushrooms with your favourite fillings.
You could keep your fillings vegan, plant based, keto, vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free, low carb, Weight Watchers or Slimming World friendly if you wanted to.
Or you could load them up with whatever naughty fillings you wanted. The choice is truly yours.
In myexample today I am using my InstantPot Jalapeno Popper Pasta as my filling for my air fryer stuffedmushrooms.
Here itis ready for the freezer:
When I make my family meals, I like to keep them as frugal as possible. The whole mushrooms that we used was a pack of 4 that were on clearance.
If you look closely at some of the photos you will see one of the mushrooms has a rip to one side. This was why they were so cheap as people look with their eyes and don’t want to buy ugly vegetables.
As wellas this not only are my whole mushrooms on clearance but the filling (myInstant Pot jalapeno pasta) is a little bit that I had leftover in the bottomof the Instant Pot after creating my freezer meals.
Air Fryer AndMushrooms
We have cooked mushrooms several times now in the air fryer and allyou need to remember about air fryer and mushrooms is how easy they cook.
Forget waiting a lifetime for your air fryer fries to finishcooking, when you cook air fryer mushrooms, they take no time at all.
That is because with the texture of the mushrooms they are a fastcook.
I do recommend some Air Fryer Accessories though for the air fryer and mushrooms:
- Air Fryer Grill Pan – What I am using today for cooking my air fryer stuffed mushrooms. It helps with the grilled taste and they fit perfectly in the grill pan. I also use it in a lot of other air fryer recipes.
- Air Fryer Baking Pan – A much better option for when you cook air fryer garlic mushrooms or other air fryer foods that use a marinade. Stops the air fryer basket from getting caked in marinade and we do this a LOT.
How To Air Fry StuffedMushrooms?
How to air fry mushrooms reminds me of how I would air fry a quiche or afrittata. You fill your base with your favourite fillings and then cook it onhigh until the base is crispy and not soggy and that your filling is eitherwell cooked or piping hot from being reheated.
When I cook whole mushrooms inthe air fryer and stuff them, I will give each of the whole mushrooms a cleanand remove the stems, then fill them with my desired filling and then cook themin the air fryer.
You can also serve our air fryerstuffed mushrooms cold at a picnic or buffet or have them warm. They make a deliciouslow carb alternative to sandwiches too.
How Long To AirFry Mushrooms?
You will be surprised to read that it doesn’t take long at allto air fryer whole stuffed mushrooms. In fact, when we cooked our JalapenoPopper Stuffed Mushrooms, we cooked them for JUST 5 minutes.
Can you imagine stuffing your mushrooms and having themcooked and ready to eat in 5 minutes!
